Life coaching or traditional Therapy
Dear reader,
I wanted to take a moment to share something that comes up often in my work with people: the difference between life coaching and therapy. If you’ve ever wondered how coaching compares or whether it’s the right path for you this might offer some clarity.
Life Coaching vs. Therapy
Therapy and coaching serve different purposes, though both can be incredibly valuable. Therapy often focuses on healing, working through past experiences, trauma, or emotional struggles. Therapists are trained and licensed to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, and their work tends to explore the “why” behind patterns and behaviors.
Life coaching, in contrast, is forward-focused. It’s about growth, clarity, and action. In our work together, we look at where you are now and where you want to go. We build a roadmap for change, develop new habits, and challenge the limiting beliefs that may be holding you back. It’s less about healing the past and more about creating a future that feels aligned, fulfilling, and true to who you are becoming.
But then why choose me?
As a trained and experienced clinical psychologist, having me as a coach brings to the table incredible advantages, starting by my strong ethical foundation, deep understanding of human behaviour, the ability for holding both healing and growth. I understand that you are not just trying to meet goals, you are carrying stories, fears, emotional blocks. I can hold those complexities within a safe space and offer grounded and compassionate support, helping you create an actionable path only for YOU
What Life Coaching Can Offer
Here’s what coaching can help you with what I aim to support in every session:
Clarity about what really matters to you, and the direction you want to take.
Accountability to follow through on your goals, even when motivation dips.
Personal growth through greater self-awareness, confidence, and resilience.
Shifting mindset, so you can let go of self-doubt and take up space in your own life.
Better boundaries and a healthier work-life balance.
Support through transitions, whether you're navigating a career shift, a relationship change, or something else entirely.
Actual results not just intentions or dreams, but real, tangible change.
This work is powerful because it's personal. It's tailored to you, your goals, and your pace. It’s about building momentum, not chasing perfection. My role is to help you stay focused, navigate the hard stuff, and grow in the direction that feels right for you.
If you’re ever curious about how our work can evolve—or if you're feeling stuck—please reach out. Coaching is a partnership, and I’m here to support your process in a way that feels grounded and honest.
Warmly,
Andrea
